Composer, pianist and organist Joe Kennedy plays his originals and several creative and exciting new arrangements of beloved standards with the amazing David Hughes Quartet!” Joe is an active working pianist/organist in the Los Angeles area, and has performed with many jazz legends including Dewey Redman, Chet Baker, and Etta James, among others. He is a prolific composer and an exciting soloist. This is his first release on Chicken Coup, and contains a variety of swinging, straight ahead, yet unique jazz.

David Hughes (saxes and flutes) studied saxophone with Bill Greene, and flute with John Barcelona. David played in the Roger James Orchestra for 5 years and lived and played in England and Holland. He toured the South Pacific in 1982 including Samoa, Tonga and New Zealand. In 1985 David played at the Russian River jazz festival with Ritchie Cole and pianist Michel Petrucciani. He played baritone sax with the Buddy Rich band for 2 years, and with the Hal Willis 9-piece group.

A Berklee College of Music graduate, percussionist Robert Kedding has collaborated with notable musicians, Ruslan Sirota and Lionel Loueke. In L.A., he has performed with the Novo Troubadours Big Band, Eon Burchman Trio, and artists such as Doug Shrieve and Eldad Tarmu.

Tom Cunningham has had the good fortune to study with Bobby Shew and play in concert with Allen Vizzutti, Rich Matteson, Don Menza, Ramsey Lewis and numerous Southern California music legends.

Scott Graham has been playing double bass for approximately 25 years, and is a student of Louis Kabok. Scott plays in both jazz and classical ensembles. He is currently a member of the bass sections of Peninsula Symphony, Beach Cities Symphony Orchestra and the Orange County Millennial Choirs and Orchestra (OCMCO).
