Trumpeter Rex Richardson is best known for his international tours with critically-acclaimed chamber ensemble Rhythm & Brass and with the late jazz saxophone titan Joe Henderson’s Quintet. He is Professor of Trumpet and Jazz Trumpet at Virginia Commonwealth University, and has become increasingly active as a classical and jazz soloist with orchestras and other ensembles around the world. He has gained a reputation as a champion of new music, and has made solo and recital appearances in Asia, Europe, Australia, and across North America.
