All works on this recording are based on folk music from Appalachia, Romania, France, and Spain, interpreted by leading composers such as Bela Bartok and Manuel da Falla. Despite the fact that guitar and bass form the backbone of many musical genres, this instrumental pairing is extremely rare in the classical field. For this reason, almost all of the duo’s repertoire is arranged from music written for other instruments producing a fresh and unique sound.
