Description
In 1937, a letter arrived in Verona addressed to Juliet. It was answered by a stranger.
Today, over 5000 letters are sent annually to Juliet. All are answered. In the early ’90s, Elvis Costello and the Brodsky String Quartet were inspired by the idea of this correspondence and composed 17 songs that explore the types of letters that might have been left at Juliet’s tomb. In 2004, David Murray arranged these songs for voice and piano, breathing new life into them with new instrumentation and new accompaniments. Here, the critically acclaimed two-some present this fascinating subject in BRAVA! fashion!
