Eastman Brass Quintet
Biography
Brass music has enjoyed a renaissance in recent years, which has been attributed no only to the new wealth of available music, but to the new techniquest used in performances of brass instruments which has captured the interest of many a high-school student as well as the current audiences. The repertoire on their two-CD set taken from the group’s legendary performances in the ‘70s includes Tower Music (16th, 17th, and 18th century music usually performed in daytime concerts in Towers of the Churches of Town Halls in central European cities), Madrigals, and contemporary music.
For the archive, the personnel was Daniel Patrylak and Allen Vizzzutti on trumpet; Verne Reynolds on horn, Don Knaub on trombone and Cherry Beauregard on tuba; with assistance by John Beck on percussion and Barry Snyder on piano.
