“If organists Shirley Scott and Jimmy Smith had formed some sort of a musical union, the offspring would no doubt have been Tony Monaco. Manifesting the melodicism of the former, the orchestral sensibilities of the latter and virtuosity of both, Monaco has become one of the most versatile and dazzling performers on the Hammond B3… This release may be Monaco’s most definitive, and can serve as both an introduction for those who don’t know his music and as a stimulating addition to his work for those who do” -JazzTimes

The ‘organ marvel’, the ‘monster B3 player’, the ‘organ phenom’ – one of the best B3 Players in the world – is back with his first studio recording in six years. To ‘blow it up’ more this version is a ‘Limited Edition’ double CD set with some of the best Tony Monaco tunes over the past 11 years; Buckle Up!

After lengthy tours around the globe with Part Martino, Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, and Eric Alexander, the incredible Tony Monaco is back with his long awaited new solo (studio) project. Bringing in power-house drummer Jason Brown (who Tony played with for two years with Martino), Tony stretched his own harmonies by doing some tracks without guitar – the results were an incredible “Celebration.”

For the remainder of the tracks (3, 6, 12 and 13), Tony utilized his Columbus-based power trio of Reggie Jackson on Drums and Derek DiCenzo on guitar. They have a great chemistry and were able to push each other further than ever before.

Tony also welcomed the wonderful Asako Itoh who joined in as guest on the song Tony wrote for her, Asako; she debuts a perfect solo for a nice change of sound and style.

Collectively the sessions blend together into one Celebratory masterpiece. Tony’s playing continues to shine and refine. NOW is the time for a CELEBRATION!
