An all-French disc of music for violin and piano, including the first American recordings of the Sonata for violin & piano, Op. 36 by Gabriel Pierné (popular with both violinists and flutists, for whom the composer arranged the piece) and Jean Françaix’s Sonatine for violin & piano (1934). Also includes Lili Boulanger’s Deux Morceaux for violin & piano and a set of transcriptions of works by Debussy, including the artists’ own transcription of Debussy’s song Mandoline.
